This new research project aims to develop a methodological and technical framework that enables the end-to-end design, implementation and secure operation of ML-based systems. This will enable users to employ AI-based systems in a reliable, resilient and confident manner.
The project pursues a holistic approach that encompasses the entire IT value chain and the threats and risks affecting it, taking all components into account. An open system architecture with maximum transparency and the technically modular structure enable continuous further development in order to respond to dynamic developments in the field of machine learning. Professor Sonntag (DFKI) says: “With this project, we implement the first interactive machine learning system with end users in the context of cyber security for Germany’s digital sovereignty.”
This project helps to provide sovereign AI solutions with a high degree of control over AI components, including applications, middleware, data, models, and infrastructure. This enables users in critical industry sectors to benefit from highly reliable AI systems that support them in their important decisions.
