On 24th June, our senior researcher Thiago Gouvea attended the FONA-Forum 2026 in Berlin. Dorothee Bär, Federal Minister for Research, presented the new strategy “Research for sustainability”.

A key objective is to bring cutting-edge research into practical application more quickly. To ensure that good ideas are turned into concrete solutions in a faster way, the new FONA strategy strengthens research and innovation across the entire ‘from Lab to Life’ value chain. From climate and marine research, through sustainable cities, to robotics for environmental and cleantech applications: The new strategy aims to help develop solutions to the challenges of our time more quickly and put them into practice.

The forum provided a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas on how AI and robotics can help bridge the gap between research and application.
